Résumé de la carrière

Après avoir obtenu un doctorat en 1998 à l'Université de Lille 1, Franck Dumeignil (47 ans) a passé six ans et demi au Japon : un premier séjour post-doctoral de 2 ans au NIMC à Tsukuba puis un second de 2 ans à la Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT) ; Il a ensuite été nommé professeur associé dans un centre d'excellence (cluster scientifique). Il revient en France et obtient un poste de professeur titulaire à l'Université, Sciences et Technologies de Lille 1, où il pilote plusieurs projets de recherche. En janvier 2010, il est nommé Directeur adjoint, puis Directeur en juin 2016, de l'UCCS, UMR CNRS 8181, qui emploie plus de 300 personnes. Il a coordonné le programme européen PCRD7 EuroBioRef« European Multilevel Integrated BIORefinery Design for Sustainable Biomass Processing », rassemblant 29 partenaires (553 personnes, environ 3400 personnes.mois) de 15 pays pour un budget global de 38 M€ (23 M€ de subvention européenne) sur 4 ans (01/03/2010 - 28/02/2014). Fin 2011, il obtient le projet ANR EQUIPEX REALCAT(« Plateforme intégREe AppLiquée au criblage haut débit de CATalyseurs pour les bioraffineries » ; 8,3 M€) ; il crée ensuite le laboratoire international associé CNRS franco-japonais CAT&P4BIO (« Innovative Catalysts for Oxidation Reactions and Processes, Biomass Conversion » ; 2013-2017). Il pilote également le SP3« Catalyse et Biocatalyse » du programme GENESYS « Genesys of Lipids Biorefinery » dans le cadre de l'ANR ITE P.I.V.E.R.T. « Picardy Plant Innovations, Teaching and Technological Research » (2011-2020 ; 247 M€). Plus récemment, il est nommé responsable du Miroir lillois de l'Unité Internationale Mixte ('UMI') 3464 CNRS/Solvay à Shanghai (E2P2L) et responsable du Hub 2 « Science for a Changing Planet » de l’I-SITE ULNE « Université Lille-Nord Europe », un projet de grande envergure estimé à 1 milliard d’euros, destiné à redessiner le paysage universitaire local. Dans ce cadre, il coordonne actuellement le « Programme pour les jeunes chercheurs lillois » (PEARL) au travers du projet H2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie – COFUND – doctoral program (2019-2025, 5,5 M€).

En termes de valorisation, F. Dumeignil est membre fondateur/actionnaire de la Startup TEAMCAT Solutions, créée en Avril 2016 basée sur un brevet issu du projet EuroBioRef.

Il est coauteur de 157 articles scientifiques, de plus de 30 brevets et extensions, et de plus de 450 présentations lors de conférences nationales et internationales, dont 59 conférences internationales invitées.
