Summary
For decades, photochemistry has been exploited as an eco-friendly alternative to traditional chemical synthesis. More recently, the rise of photocatalysis, particularly using visible light, has generated growing interest by enabling new reactions. In parallel, isoindolinones, structures present in numerous molecules of interest, especially pharmaceuticals, have also been the subject of extensive studies for many years. Based on the laboratory's expertise in both fields, this manuscript describes the development of new photochemical and photocatalytic methodologies for the functionalization of a platform molecule, 3-methyleneisoindolinone. Thus, starting from this molecule, a photo-induced alkoxyarylation reaction in the presence of aryldiazonium salts, a carbamoylation by photoredox catalysis using Hantzsch ester derivatives, and a photocatalyzed transformation based on a hydrogen atom transfer process are successively detailed. |
After the defense, a get-together party will follow.
I hope to see you there.
Kind regards,
Nathan Martin
