Presentation

UCCS is a young and dynamic laboratory, formally established in 2006 but with a remarkable historical legacy. Indeed, our laboratory finds its roots in the Laboratory of General Chemistry created in 1954 by Professor Jean-Eugène Germain and in the Laboratory of Crystallochemistry founded in 1973 by Professor Daniel Thomas. These laboratories, which became the Laboratory of Catalysis of Lille (Head: E. Payen) and the Laboratory of Crystallochemistry and Physico-Chemistry of Solid (Head: F. Abraham), respectively, merged in 2006 to give birth to the UCCS. The perimeter of UCCS then expanded, firstly by integrating the Laboratory of Physico-Chemistry of Interfaces and Applications of the University of Artois (Head: E. Monflier) on the 1st of January 2008 and then, on the 1st of January 2015, by the integration of the Molecular Chemistry and Formulation Laboratory (Head: J.-M. Aubry).

Nowadays, as 65 years ago, all the members UCCS, whether researchers, teacher-researchers, support staff, or non-permanent staff (contractual teacher-researchers “ATER”, post-docs, doctoral students, master students...), contribute to its reputation by bringing together their skills and know-how at the service of chemistry for energy, environment and sustainable development. It is important for us to contribute to the development of a more responsible society, under the aegis of our supervisory authorities, in partnership with local and regional authorities, national authorities and bodies, competitiveness clusters, as well as national, European and international academic and socio-economic stakeholders who widely recognize our skills and contribution.

Do not hesitate to connect regularly on this site currently under reshaping to discover updated and new sections! You will find a lot of information about our laboratory, including its staff, activities, and equipment. Please, do not hesitated to contact us if you need more details, but also to share your projects and skills with us. Our teams are open to new collaborations with the academic and industrial worlds, and our laboratory is always on the lookout for new talents to complete its know-how!
